About Me

Barbarette Mortimer

I am a registered psychotherapist, relationship and sex therapist with experience working in the NHS, in Private Practice and the Charity Sector.

I began my career as a psychologist and then completed further postgraduate trainings in integrative psychotherapy, relationship and psychosexual therapy, therapy with children and young people, EMDR and clinical supervision.

Before working in psychological health I ran my own business whilst bringing up my family and later taught an undergraduate course at Sussex University.  I then worked in Television in a variety of roles where I completed a PGDip in Law, finally working as a legal executive.

I am a registered psychotherapist, and an accredited therapist with the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), COSRT (College of sex and relationship therapists) and EMDR Europe, a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and a member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC).

I am also a Licensed Relate therapist which means that I take referrals from Relate in my private practice.  I am also a Registered Relate Supervisor.

I work with adults, adolescents and children over 10yrs old.
